Pump up your Lashes with Luna Nectar Moon Boost

Being a natural redhead comes with a lot of disadvantages; we burn easily in the sun, it takes more anesthesia when we have surgeries, we need to draw in our eyebrows and use mascara in order to look even slightly feminine. Okay, maybe I’m speaking from my own experience. But along with very light eyelash hair my lashes are naturally quite short. And therefore I decided to bring in the big guns: Luna Nectar Moon Boost.

Behind the Brand: Luna Nectar

Luna Nectar is a Canadian brand; the inspiration to create a natural lash enhancing serum came from the founder’s sister who had been using a conventional lash serum which was causing hormonal imbalances. After seeing the detrimental effects of the conventional lash serum, Luna Nectar Moon Boost was born!

I had been wanting to try a lash boosting serum for a while but opted to avoid it during my pregnancy just in case. After the pregnancy I figured we were safe to give it a go, especially seeing as hair loss seems to peak postpartum.

How does it work?

The application is very simple – you apply this like eyeliner on the base of your eye lashes every night. You can also use it on your brows if you want to increase hair growth there. I did not apply this product to my eyebrows so I cannot vouch for the effectiveness on them.

My experience with the Luna Nectar Moon Boost

I have been using the Luna Nectar Moon Boost for two months now and I have noticed that although my lashes have not grown in length, they have increased in thickness. It took a couple weeks before I noticed the slight improvement.

It’s definitely not a drastic change but, it hasn’t had a detrimental effect on my lashes…

I do have one cause for concern which I noticed only after using the product for two months. The morning after application, the corner of my eyes were in pain. Like they felt inflamed. I also had two styes during the first month of using.

Weirdly the inflammation was on my lower lashes and I only applied the Luna Nectar Moon Boost on my upper lash line.

So I stopped applying the Luna Nectar Moon Boost for a week to see if my symptoms improved and they did. The eye irritation was definitely caused by using this product. Unfortunately I think that this product may be too irritating to use for a long period of time for me.

If you have a history of sensitive skin and styes this product may not be the best for you.

I still have quite a bit left and I think that in a couple of weeks I will start to use this again, it just might be a product that I have to use for a few weeks and then stop every once in a while. I am still undecided on whether I will repurchase. It’s a matter of weighing the risk for the reward!
