Well.ca Haul | Personal + Skincare Products

Does anyone else have months where you’re really good about curbing your spending… but then other months you just go absolutely nuts without realizing it? February is that month for me. Someone take my credit card away – quick! In all fairness though I did need a few of these products that I ordered from Well.ca…

Well.ca Haul February 2017

Well.ca Haul

Skincare Products

The bulk of this order was for skincare products. I recently ran out of my beloved Vichy Aqualia Thermal Moisturizer which has been my favourite moisturizer for about two years now. Since I’m moving to more green and organic beauty care products I decided that it was about time to change it up, so the hunt for a new face moisturizer has begun.

Does anyone else agree that searching for a new face moisturizer is one of the hardest things?!

Penny Lane Organics Ultra Hydrating Moisturizer $26.99 CAD

This has nothing but five star reviews on Well.ca so I am hoping that it works out! This moisturizer does not have any Coconut oil or Shea butter which can be comedogenic (and cause clogged pores!) I’ve swatched the moisturizer on my hand and it seems to be very hydrating and not sticky! Here’s hoping it works just as well on my face. 😉

Indie Lee Squalane Facial Oil $37.99 CAD

This was a pricey purchase that may not have been needed… But there are so many great reviews on this product as well. Plus I’ve heard that it is great for skin in the winter; I’m so sick of having dry skin. The cool thing is that this face oil is 100% squalane oil derived from olives!

Carina Organics Sweet Pea Daily Moisturizing Shampoo + Conditioner $13.99 CAD (each)

It’s no secret that I love the Carina Organics products! I’ve reviewed the Peppermint Shampoo + Conditioner as well as the Sweet Pea Body Wash + Lotion. I couldn’t help but get another couple bottles now that the Peppermint ones are empty. If you’re on the hunt for a natural shampoo + conditioner, you will not be disappointed in these. (Plus the branding is amazing 💖)

Personal Care Products

fabulous flo panty liners

Fabulous Flo Panty Liners $19.99 CAD

These weren’t cheap, but if it can save me from buying packages of liners and the waste that comes with them I think it will be so worth it! After reading about how many feminine hygiene products clog up the landfill I decided that it was about time to switch to something more eco-friendly. I do use the Organicup (which I love love love) but I like to wear liners as a backup on those heavy days… just in case!

I’m already used to cleaning out my menstrual cup during my period (which really isn’t that bad) so I’m sure these won’t be too different.

That’s it! I wasn’t that bad with my spending – plus I used a 10% coupon that was emailed to me from Well.ca and my ebates.

If you don’t have ebates and you shop online often, you should check it out! They have websites for the U.S and Canada (not sure about the UK or Europe) and you can earn cash back through them – I just received my first cheque last week! Click here to sign up for ebates using my referral code.

How’s your spending been this year?
I think it’s time for me to go on a spending ban!

  • I swear someone needs to ban me from using my card as well… I’ve been spending way too much money on things this month and it’s not even funny anymore. Anyways, I can’t wait to hear more about these products from you 🙂

  • My month was January and it was horribleeeeeee! It even went a bit into this month but has slowed down. I think maybe we were just try to save during the holidays that we deprived ourselves then just exploded…and as I write this I’m thinking to take a look at well.ca lol. Help me! Anyways I’m really curious about those liners. I’ve never tried reusable feminine hygiene products before – perhaps I’ll do more research hehe.

    Stacey – thebambieyes.com

    • Hahah – that is most definitely what happened! Sorry LOL. I’m a bit nervous about the pads, mostly because of staining… but I guess we’ll see what happens! Have you heard of those underwear that are supposed to be like a built in pad? Those look pretty neat too!

      • I’ve looked into those underwear pads and they’re quite pricey, but well I guess it’s not too bad in comparison to buying very chemicalized disposable pads…I think the best thing for me to do is just shut up and actually do the research LOL

  • My month was Dec-Jan, I went way overboard with spending! LOL! I’m so much better in Feb but I did purchase a couple of stuff that I needed to replace or I am out of. I have never bought from well.ca because I don’t think their prices are the best.

    Shireen | Reflection of Sanity

    • I do agree that for some things Well.ca is way out of left field for the prices! I usually only purchase certain things when they are on sale (like the Carina Organics and Dish Soap!) Or when ebates is having double cash back which is nice!

  • I’ve been doing okay with my spending this year, although I’ve already spent $200 at Sephora, which is how much I usually spend there in a year. OOPS. Moisturizer is hard to shop for, I agree! I’ve finally found one that I love, but I think it’ll be too heavy for the summer months, so once I use up my current tube I’ll have to start the hunt over again.

    Clementine | My Darling Clementine

    • Haha, oh boy! It’s not hard to spend $200 in one go at Sephora…unfortunately! Best of luck to you with the hunt for a new moisturizer as well – it is soooooo hard.

  • I’m looking forward to hearing how these products work out for you, especially the facial oil (ok, and the moisturizer, LOL). I didn’t realize there were reusable liners out there, but now that I think about it it totally makes sense. Happy Monday, lady!

  • February was a bad month spendingwise as well, but then again it is my birthday month, so I had a few coupons and gift vouchers that needed to be used. The organic liners sound interesting. I recently switched my birth control to IUD and for the first three months frequent, but very ligh bleeding is common. I am not used to that and need mire liners than I want to.

Linda, Libra, Loca: Beauty, Baby and Backpacking

    • Awww – you’ve got to treat yourself on your birthday! I don’t think I’d enjoy that transition phase. Hopefully the spotting clears up soon. It’s a real pain in the butt! I can imagine you’d have to go through quite a few packages of liners for a while.

  • I couldn’t agree more about finding a good new moisturizer, especially if it is one to use in the morning, I don’t mind the heavy, thick consisencies in the evening, but I need something more light yet still highly hydrating in the morning! I hope this one will work for you, I’m also quite intrigued about the Indie Lee Squalane Facial Oil, I really love the fact that it is derived from Olives! Lovely haul!

    http://fannyanddailybeauty.com

    • Exactly! I’m hoping that it works out as well – there’s definitely a lot in the container. So far I am really surprised by the Squalane face oil – can’t wait to do a review on it!
Thanks so much for reading 🙂

  • February…I think I bought a pair of socks. I’m not kidding, that’s like kind of all I bought. I’m kind of scared actually–this means I’ve been doing too much studying and not seeing enough daylight. The Carina Organics shampoo and conditioner sound really good– I also love the sound of their scents– sweet pea, and especially peppermint sound amazing. I love everything peppermint, especially something naturally peppermint. When I finish my tresemme I’ll perhaps give it a try. xx

    • Oh man, I wish I could have your self control. Although I am quite fond of the daylight 😉
I hope that you can get the Carina Organics products in the states! They’re so so good.

  • I have actually been really good this month, I had a financial scare earlier this month that has left me really cautious now with spending money online, I need to find a good morning moisturiser too, it is hard to find one that works for my skin. Thank you for sharing xxx

    ALittleKiran | Bloglovin

    • Oh no! Hope that everything is okay for you. I wish it was easier to find something that worked for everyone when it comes to moisturizer!

  • Nadia

I am totally with you re: it’s either “nope, I don’t want/not going to buy anything” or “spend, spend, spend” stages lol. I do think you got some amazing (from the sound AND look of it) products, sweetie. Carina Organics are especially intriguing and I am going to be checking out their shipping to the UK situation once I finish writing this comment 🙂
I’ve never tried a menstrual cup or panty liners but I need to look into it, and try to switch.
Thanks for sharing your recent purchases – they are great!!
Hope you’re having a super lovely week, honey <3

    • Ahaha, glad that I am not the only one who has the same mentality! It’s weird how spending comes all at once though. I do hope that Carina Organics is available to you – if not I may need to send over a little care package for you to try out! Let me know!

The really nice thing about a menstrual cup is that you don’t have to worry about it for 12 hours – so it makes travelling a breeze! There’s nothing worse than dealing with your period while on board a 8 hour flight haha.

Thanks for stopping by Nadia! <3

  • Caitlin

Nice haul, I love organic products xx

    Caitlin, Beauty & Colour

  • I feel you on the spending thing! Nice haul 🙂

  • That shampoo and conditioner sounds amazing!! Might need to see if I can find some to try 😀

    xx Sofia | SOFIAADOT

  • Totally agree that shopping for a moisturizer is one of the hardest things, especially since I have combo skin. I try to avoid coconut oil in products for fear of breaking out, so that Penny Lane moisturizer sounds great! Hope it works out well for your face 🙂

    Jenny // Geeky Posh

    • Right!? So far the penny lane was one of the few I could find that don’t have those comedogenic oils in it. Thanks for stopping by, Jenny!

  • The shampoo and moisturizer sounds incredible! I’ve really been trying to push myself to buy natural/organic products so I’ll put this on the list of things I need to try out!

    Reine | Sincerely Reine

  • Some of these products sound really interesting, although I really need to stop spending!

    SHAKIRA / SHAKIRA SACKS

  • Really enjoyed reading about these products; I love skincare and with my dry skin, the hydrating moisturiser looks a treat! Thanks for sharing! x
    Lots of love,
