Welcome to Sustainably Savvy + Spring Tag!

It came without a warning for both of us, I promise. Last week I had a spur of the moment thought and decided to act upon it… which is why it was completely out of the blue. As many of you know, LindseyGinge has been retired and now Sustainably Savvy is the way of the future.

LindseyGinge was created when I knew that I wanted to write, but I didn’t really have a niche. I was bouncing around between beauty, lifestyle and even starting to touch on my current niche. LindseyGinge was great for the past year and half… but it was starting to feel confusing. No longer relating to the niche that I finally found myself in.

Let’s all take a moment and bid LindseyGinge farewell.

Why Sustainably Savvy?

As many of you may know, my website has taken a turn for the Green Beauty, Health and Lifestyle niche. I want to focus on living green and clean. Minimizing my impact on the environment as much as I can, one day at a time. It’s something that I’ve always loved and now I think I have the ability to share that love and inspiration with you, my amazing readers.

If you ever plan on making a spur of the moment name change, you’re going to realize that it comes with a heck of a lot of work. The least of my problems was directing my old domain to this one. In fact, Siteground made that switch so ridiculously easy I couldn’t believe it (if you’re not with Siteground you are totally missing out!) Their reps are super helpful, quick and knowledgeable.

Switching email url’s, changing names on social media, updating old images to display the new url, switching bloglovin’ addresses and re-verifying all the information for mailchimp, facebook etc. The list really goes on and it was a lot of unforeseen work. Anyway, I think I’m almost there and it’s going to take some time… but hey, a shiny new name!

Okay, let’s get into the Spring Tag. I was tagged by Kay from Shoes & Glitter and I figured this would be a fun little thing to do. A break from my usual research- writing for this website.

Sustainably Savvy The Spring Tag

Sustainably Savvy + The Spring Tag

Favourite spring nail polish?

I don’t wear nail polish anymore! After reading about how many horrible toxins are in nail polish (which I did a post on!) I haven’t painted my nails. There are some good green nail polish brands, but I have yet to try them.

Must have lip colour this spring?

I have been loving the Pure Anada “Morden’s Blush.” The lipstick is completely mangled, but I still love the colour and apply it with a lip brush. I have a review and swatches on some Pure Anada products here.

Favourite spring dress?

As always, my favourite dress is the one that I stole from my mother’s closet. It’s a vintage black dress with a gold floral pattern.

Favourite flower?

There’s too many to count! I love lilies because their colours are so vibrant. I’m also a big fan of sweet pea because they smell so darn good!

Favourite spring accessory?

I don’t swap out accessories for the season (#nottrendy) I always wear the same jewelry year round.

What spring trends are you most excited for this year (makeup or fashion)?

I don’t follow fashion trends at all. I am excited about glowy makeup, though I think that just goes hand in hand with spring/summer. I love the bronzed sun-kissed looks.

Favourite spring candle?

This weekend, Justin and I went to Maple in the County which is basically a celebration full of maple-related products. We picked up a couple Maple Candles that are made in Montreal with soy wax. My house smells like maple syrup (the most Canadian thing ever) and I love it. I think I just might have to include one of the candles in a giveaway!

Favourite body spray or perfume for spring?

I was loving the Pacifica Hawaiian Guava perfume that I purchased in December. Unfortunately, when I was on vacation I dropped it and the bottle shattered into a thousand tiny pieces. I’m sure that the floor probably still smells like perfume there.

What is spring like where you live?

Spring is muddy and rainy. It smells like fresh-dirt outside… but in a good way.

What is your favourite thing about spring?

The birds singing, the brighter and longer days, the tulips popping up! Basically everything that let’s you know winter is finally over.

Are you a spring cleaner?

Kind of. Every couple months I tend to go on a really deep clean of the house. I’d call it more seasonal cleaner though – it’s not just in spring!

Any plans for spring break or upcoming vacation?

Unfortunately our vacation was back in February. I do plan to fly over to British Columbia at the end of Summer to visit family, but that’s about five months away. (Boo!)

Thanks for reading – feel free to do the tag if you’re feeling a little bit stuck in a rut with blogging, or if you’d like to take a break and write something simple, quick and easy! Let me know if you do, I’d love to read it!

  • I love many things when it comes to spring, but it being light outside when I go to work is my favorite part hand down.

Linda, Libra, Loca: Beauty, Baby and Backpacking

    • Completely agree! It’s so depressing in the winter and it starts to get dark before you even leave work.

  • Congratulations again on the rebranding, Lindsey, good on you for writing about what you are passionate about. You spring sounds similar to mine, just lots of rain and mud but it sure beats the hell out of lots of snow.

  • I’m loving the new name!
I haven’t cut out nail polish from my life, but I am reaching more for 5-free and 7-free, and even some water-based ones.
I just ordered some products from Pure Anada and am wearing them today for the first time (a blush and gloss). So far so good! 🙂

  • Congratulations on becoming Sustainably Savvy and landing on a new niche that you’re passionate about. Sustainability should be something everyone incorporates into their lifestyle these days for the good of the planet and those of us who live on it. I’m a seasonal cleaner as well. There’s just something so satisfying about the process 🙂

    • Thanks Rowena! You’re totally right, we should all be a little bit more sustainable in our day to day life. Having a clean home is amazing!!

  • Congrats on the rebrand! It’s totally you. 🙂

  • SamanthaSeries

    Congrats on the rebrand! 🙂

  • Farewell LindseyGinge, It was nice knowing you. R.I.P

No but seriously, I love this shiny new name of yours– I think it fits you completely and will totally allow you to embody your niche. I wish spring here smelled like dirt. All I smell is exhaust fumes and sidewalk garbage. :/

I love this tag! Spring is my favorite season 🙂

  • Once again congratulations on the name change and well done, you! It sounds great and I think portraits your blog perfectly. Also, my favourite thing about spring is similar to yours, I love how everything is coming back to the life 🙂

  • I’m loving this and I’m glad you finally found a place and idea on what you want your blog to develop into! Although I’m a plant-based eater I honestly know even my diet isn’t enough to help the environment and after seeing what you’ve done I’m getting more conscious of what I buy now especially when it comes to beauty. I still have a long way to go in makeup and skincare, but I have already started with my hair and can say everything I use for my hair is green, cruelty-free, vegan, etc. I hope to be able to add more green elements like you have been doing. I’m looking forward to what else you have in store!
