November Empties | 2016

Like most other bloggers, I have to start with the sentence “I can’t believe how quickly November went!” Well, this entire year has flown by pretty darn quickly. Then again they always do, don’t they?

November Empties 2016

November Empties 2016
Dear Canva… I love you, but quit moving my text when I save!!!

This month I finished up a lot of skincare products. In fact, I think this entire post is solely on skincare. That’s not entirely bad though.

** I have linked to products that I have done reviews on, in case you are curious about them**

Face Products

Vichy Purete Thermale Eye Makeup Remover*

This product was sent to me by Chickadvisor and I did a review on it a few months ago. I have to say that I was not every impressed with this product *gasp.* As I’m usually all over Vichy skincare products. This just didn’t really do it for me. You had to scrub your eyes, even for non-waterproof mascara in order for any of it to come off.

Garnier Micellar Water

Another product that I just did not really love. I know some people swear by this, but I thought it was rather… unexciting. I cannot see myself repurchasing this product again.

Vichy Purete Thermale Skin Renewing Creamy Scrub*

I didn’t fall in love with this Vichy product either. I found that it was very drying for my skin – somehow in the summer it would make my face dry and flakey. And yes, I moisturize after using it. I don’t think I’ll be picking another one of these up anytime soon.

Vichy Aqualia Thermale Light Moisturizer

Wow – I really should be a Vichy brand ambassador considering how many of their products I have in my empties! This was the unfortunate jar that I dropped and spilled HALF of the product out of when I repurchased it. Yes, I teared up a little.

I do enjoy this moisturizer, but now I’ve purchased the extra sensitive one that comes in a bottle (so I can’t spill it!) and it’s a little bit heavier for our dry, cold winters.

Vichy Aqualia Thermale Night Moisturizer

I received this sample as part of a set (I love when companies do that with their products!) It was just a small amount, but this product lasted a long time. I mostly enjoy it because the jar is super cute… but it wasn’t a clear-cut winner in my skincare routine. I think I’ll pass on buying a larger size of this.

November Empties 2016

Burt’s Bees Lip Balm

GUYS! I actually finished a LIP BALM. That’s one of the hardest things to do. At least in my opinion. I can’t remember the last time I actually finished a lip balm – does this mean I have good luck?

I kid. But the Burt’s Bees lip balm is fantastic! I have a few more kicking around so I can definitely see myself repurchasing!

Body Care

Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner

I received this as a gift from my friend who used to work at Lush. I can see this being a great product for the winter time because it is very moisturizing. I’m not sure if it’s a seasonal thing or not. But if you see it and you have dry skin – pick it up!

Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant

As much as I would love to wear deodorant rather than antiperspirant… I can’t. My pits are shameless and they will not stop. I find that if I wear a deodorant by the end of the day I’ll smell horrible. And who wants to smell horrible? No one.
This was… antiperspirant. I mean, it did stop the shamlessly stanky pits but it’s nothing to get super excited about. The coconut scent is pretty nice and not too overpowering. I have repurchased another one of these.

And that’s it for my November Empties! This month was great for chugging away and clearing out the skincare collection…which usually seems to build up faster then you can use it all. Hopefully by next month I can finish up some makeup!

What have you finished this month?

  • I am on my second tub of the Ro´s Argan Oil Body moisturizer. It is such a time saver for busy mornings, and I just cant go without moisturizing my skin in winter.

    • Do you know if it’s limited edition? I’ve never actually seen it in-store. It is really moisturizing though! Fantastic for winter, especially after shaving your legs 🙂

      • Hm, I am not sure. I bought it with at least a year in between, but both times in winter, so maybe it is seasonal?

  • I totally need to try the Argan Body Conditioner! It sounds awesome!

I cant remember the last time I finished a lip balm! But I am close 🙂

    • YAY! It’s probably the most exciting thing because for some reason they seem so hard to finish OR you misplace them before they’re finished.

  • Rosy Flynn

I used to go through Burts Bees like there was no tomorrow! I’ll have to pick one up, I’ve but had one in a while 🙂

  • Totally on the same page with you about the VIchy eye makeup remover and the Garnier micellar solution! Even the waterproof Vichy eye makeup remover isn’t as good as others I’ve tried.

And I’m definitely in shock that it’s so close to the end of the year. I know it’s such a cliché to say, but how is tomorrow December already?!

    • I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought so – it was actually pretty disappointing because it’s not a cheap product by any means. hahah RIGHT!??

  • Laura

The body conditioner sounds so good! You finished quite a lot of products x

  • I thought it was just me who didn’t get the hype around micellar water ! I do however love lush and my skin has been awful with winter and the cold weather so I might have to pick up some of that body conditioner !

  • You and I need to sit down and have a talk missy, how could you not like Garnier Micellar Water?! LOL! Jokes aside, I really like it as you already know, I think it’s as good as Bioderma.

    Shireen | Reflection of Sanity

  • Aww I’m sad you don’t like the Garnier Micellar water! I’ve repurchased several bottles! I love Ro’s Argan during the winter when my skin becomes super dry!

    • Oh nice! I guess it just didn’t seem to do what I wanted – but everyone has different skin, right? Yes, the Ro’s Argan is lovely. Thanks for reading hun 🙂

  • Yiotou_La

I am loving the Garnier micellar water, I am on my second bottle and I recently purchaased another one cause it is almost empty. I love it because it does not dry my skin and removes everything! I have so many products that are almost empty, cannot wait to finish them! x

  • I’ve been wanting to try out the Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner for ages!

  • So many good empties! I have never tried Vichy before but I know sooo many people who swear by them. I’ve also heard the Garnier Micellar water isn’t to much to write home about. I love the Boots Bontanics one! You go through a lot of products! My empties are always so slim since I’m using like 23923598 products at a time. Haha. It takes me years to actually finish something (exaggerating, but yeah…).

    • I guess the Garnier Micellar really depends on your skin type and preferences! I know some people who absolutely adore it! Wish we had Boots here – that sounds amazing.

Hahaha – but once you finish a couple, you’ll be on a roll!
      Thanks for reading 🙂

  • Finishing a lip balm is hard to do. I always end up losing them. I have, however, been able to keep my sierra nevada cactus & grapefruit lip balm for a while. :]

  • You finished quite a lot! I have never ever finished a lip balm as well, haha. It seems like a rather hard thing to do. I’d love to try Burt’s Bees as it really sounds like a good product 🙂

  • Awesome job finishing up so many things. I love the Burt’s Bees Lip Balms, they are really awesome. While I like the Garnier Micellar Water, I don’t love it either!

I’ve never heard of the Argan conditioner – sounds like it would definitely be a great winter skin saviour – I’m definitely going to keep my eyes peeled for it! Let’s hope it’s still around!

  • Kay (shoesandglitter)

Really enjoyed reading about your empties, lovely! 🙂 I know that a lot of people have mixed feelings about Garnier’s micellar water, but personally I love it! I think one of the reasons why I like it as much as I do because you do get a lot of product for the price – it usually lasts me for months and months! xoxo Also, I too am a huge fan of Burt’s Bees lip balms. They always smell so amazing, and more importantly, they feel so great on the lips! 🙂 Really enjoyed this post, darling, thank you for sharing! Hope you’re well. 🙂 xoxo

  • Seriously I am really bad at finishing products. I was about to finish my shampoo and I got a new one so I started using it instead of finishing it… There are so many half full bottles in the bathroom. Garnier Micellar Water is my favourite… I know it is just water but it is so good, but yeah not everyone likes it 🙂

  • wow, they sound amazing!
