Festive Decorations – Inspiration from Pinterest!

I hope you all had a fantastic Halloween and ate plenty of candies, etc etc… But you know what comes after Halloween that you get over a month to prepare for? CHRISTMAS. Guys – I’m so excited. This is the first year where I have our own full house to decorate so I’m planning to make sure that you can feel the festivities in every room, yes. Even the bathroom if my boyfriend allows me.

Festive Decorations – Inspiration from Pinterest!

We purchased our Christmas tree a couple weeks ago – I wanted to set it up as soon as we arrived home. However, my boyfriend said that we had to wait until after Halloween before we set it up. (So guess what I did November 1?) Now, the Christmas tree has lights… but we don’t have any ornaments… so that has to change A.S.A.P.

This post is just to share some inspiration that I’ve gathered for festive decorations on pinterest – and hopefully I’ll be able to find a way to DIY some of them without spending too much $$$.

It’s trying to find that balance for decorations that are festive but don’t look tacky! I find that there’s so many people who have 500+ beautiful decorations, but when you pair them all together your house just looks like a mess. These photos are the perfect balance (in my opinion.)

We don’t have a mantle in our house – but I love the little trees with the burlap sacks and simplicity of this decor.

We have some nice white trim similar to the one pictured, so I plan to wrap it up in a garland. Perhaps adding some burlap bows or poinsetta flowers.

Also, that rug doesn’t match our home decor – but I’m seriously loving it! So boho.

This house looks GORGEOUS! Can I live here? Look how clean, open and airy it is! We don’t have a railing with spindles, but I want to add something like this going down our staircase.

This is just for the Mmm! factor – these look so delicious! (The link is to the recipe! You’re welcome.)

DIY gift in a jar triple chocolate brownies

Oh and if you’re looking for easy DIY gift ideas, last year I shared a post on these Triple Chocolate Brownie mix jars which were almost a pinterest fail, but I saved them!

I could share so many pictures here, but if you’re in the mood to see more festive decorations make sure to check out my pinterest board which I’ll be adding a ton of inspiration pictures to for the next couple months.

When it comes to Christmas, are you a Grinch or a Who?

  • I love this post! I’m exactly like you when it comes to Christmas, and I just cannot wait to start setting up my tree. Sean absolutely refuses to start decorating the place until the first of December (assbutt -.-“) but it doesn’t stop me from planning! I love that you and I have a very similar taste in Christmas decorations <3 The first picture just makes me so happy! I wish I had a staircase to decorate T_T

  • I can’t wait to decorate my house this festive season. What a lovely inspiration.

  • I don’t mind Christmas decoration, but the countdown and decoration starts at the end of November! It is still autumn, and I refuse to fast forward to what is going to be a long winter.

  • I never really felt the Christmas spirit until I moved, and now EVERYTHING is in the Christmas Spirit even though it’s the beginning of November. My flat’s probably gonna be covered in red, white and gold ahahaha!

I have yet to get my Christmas tree this year! It’s kind of amazing how early people start putting up Christmas decorations, I make a point to wait until the beginning of December at least! Thank you for sharing this lovely inspiration, those DYI jars look totally awesome!! <3

  • Oh man, when I bought my first Christmas tree (~2 years ago), I wanted to set it up right away too (but I mean, I bought it in early November, so it was *kinda* more acceptable). LOVING ALL THOSE GARLANDS IN THOSE INSPIRATION PHOTOS. (Though my biggest issue/question with hanging garlands on archways is how??? I’d love to hand garlands on my archway like in the second inspo photo, but without damaging the frame. Any ideas? 😐 ) I’d love to eventually see photos of how you decorated your home–I’M EXCITED FOR YOU. DECORATING YOUR FIRST HOME 😀

As for ornaments, I used to buy them from Target. Ah, bless Target.
